Chrok La Eang
Hills of deep green forest and trails along a beautiful waterfall welcome tourists in Chrork La-Eang Village in Aural Wildlife Sanctuary, in the Western province of Pursat. The eco-tourism site is part of the world famous Cardamom Mountains, home to vast tropical forests and exotic animal and plant species. The forest of Chrork La-Eang is protected by the local community, who patrol it regularly to hinder illegal loggers from destroying their beautiful trees.

Chi Phat Community
The Chi-Phat commune (Khmer: ជីផាត,pronunciation: cheephat) is located deep within the Cardamom Mountains in the South-West of Cambodia. The commune consists four villages:Chi-Phat, Komlot, Chom-Sla and T'k La'o. Most of the local residents make their living mainly out of agriculture, fishing and tourism. Ecotourism efforts in recent years have made Chipat a popular destination for foreign visitors and local Cambodians alike. After 10 years of running the ecotourism project, the village is becoming more sustainable and is well known globally.

Peam Krasaop Wildlife Sanctuary
Peam Krasaop Wildlife Sanctuary is protected by the Cambodian government. It boasts a unique mangrove ecosystem consisting of 23,750 hectares and has around 10,000 people living within its borders. The area is influenced by inter-tidal levels and water from highland areas. Although Peam Krasaop Wildlife Sanctuary is protected under the Ramsar Convention there are concerns about the destruction of mangrove forests and the clearing of coastal swamp forest due to excessive shrimp farming. These activities are having a severe negative effect on wildlife habitat.

Chambok Ecotourism Project
Chambok is a community of 9 rural villages where you can experience and learn about the typical daily life of Cambodian families. You can also explore the area’s beautiful natural surroundings. The community-based ecotourism project was established in 2002 to provide an additional income for the local people and help protect the surrounding forest. Since 2003, the Chambok community has protected 1,260 hectares of forestland from logging and hunting. The ecotourism project is managed by the villagers themselves, and all revenues from ecotourism stay in the community.
