HOMESTAY DETAILS

The O’Svay Village Homestay includes an overnight stay in a private room with a local family in one of five villages in the O’Svay Community, Stung Treng. The villages are located a short walk from the banks of the Mekong river.

Houses are elevated on stilts and access is via stairs. Rooms include double mattress, mosquito net, bedding and electricity. Bathrooms are external to the house with Khmer style toilets and bucket showers.

Suitable for small, medium and large groups with several rooms available in each home.

Home-cooked, delicious Khmer food is served in a local community restaurant outside of the homestays.

Itinerary

1 night homestay:

After a day of exploring the Kirirom National Park or taking part in some village activities, arrive at your homestay to relax and get to know the family. You will have dinner in the early evening.

Getting there

Travelling from Phnom Penh/Siem Reap, use one of the many buses and VIP minibuses to reach Stung Treng city. From there you have 2 options:

By boat – Book a ticket at the tourism office in the centre of Stung Treng (2km from Stung Treng, on the national Road No. 7) It is around $12.

By car/ motorbike – 45 km from Stung Treng towards the Lao border on National Road No.7. 16kms into the journey take the road on the left. From the Lao border to Stung Treng, it is 7km along the National road and then take a right.

From Preah Rumkel – $10 (you can try to bargain this price with the local community)
