Koh Samseb invites you to visit, camp and enjoy dinner on the islands along the river, where you will create some long-lasting memories. The area is rich in biodiversity and you will experience the flooded forest, endangered species, and plentiful species of birds. You will have the opportunity to walk on pristine white sandy beaches and warm crystal-clear Mekong river waters. Learn everything there is to know about Koh Samseb by visiting multiple small islands that make up this part of the delta.

Itinerary

Camping at the Island :

2:00pm: Arrive at Koh Samseb community Office at Koh Koh Khnae
2:10pm: Make your way to the boat and go to some of the thirty islands including:

-Koh krang
-Koh Bamboo
-Koh High level sands

– go swimming and lay on the river beaches, or take photos of your trip
-continue to other islands to see the species of birds such as:

  • River Term, Darter White-Shouldered Ibis, Little Egret , Lesser Adjutant, Great Thick-knee, Blue-tailed Bee-eater, Red-wattled Lapwing, Grey-headed fish eagle, Mekong Wagtail Sunbird Woolly-necked and others.

5:00pm : arrive at High level sands Island
-prepare camp
-enjoy your dinner and relax in front of fire
-stay safely at the camp overnight
7:00am: Return to the community office before departure

Getting there

Phnom Penh to Koh Samseb Community

From Phnom Penh you need to take VIP bus service to Kratie (about 5 hours) and get off when you reach Kratie bus station.

You can book a bus to Kratie on Book Me Bus

Once you arrive in Kratie, you can call the local bus driver (the project manager can provide you with his number when you book.) It is about an hour from Kratie to Koh Khnae (which is the base for exploring Koh Samseb), heading north on National road 7.
